How do you equalize in a Full Face Mask?The answer is : It depends on which FFM you are using!For the Guardian / Stealth FFMs : Inside the oral nasal pocket there is an adjustable V-Block (shown on the yellow Guardian) that sits on a wire form. The slotted block has different thickness pads included which can be swapped out to change the height of the block below the diver's nose. A different size wire form is also included to help facilitate a wide range of face types.When adjusted properly, the V-Block should sit just below the diver's nose. To equalize, the diver needs apply moderate pressure in and up on the FFM or regulator to seal the V-block against the diver's nostrils. If excessive force is needed, the block is too low and needs to move up. If the block is closing the diver's nostrils all the time, it needs to move down. When adjusted correctly, this should be a comfortable and easy task to do!For the Spectrum FFM : As the oral nasal pocket is accessible from the front of the mask, a diver can just reach in and pinch their nostrils like a traditional scuba mask!
